About Me

I was born to Helmut and Faith Heuple in a farmhouse in South Dakota. I was the third child and the only girl.  My dad had to deliver the doctor via a horse and sled because of the terrible snow storm.  I lived in South Dakota until I was two and one half years old when my family moved to a small town in Northern Idaho.  I lived in St. Maries until I graduated from high school in 1961.

I was married the first time in Sept. of 1964, and had three children as a result of that marriage.  I was divorced in 1979 with three children to support and no job substantial enough to support the family.  I went back to school and finished a degree in English and Education in 1982.  I went to work teaching English in Middleton, ID.  In the meantime, I had met my future husband, Warren.  I finally got him to marry me on April 2, 1985.  When school was done that spring, the kids and I joined Warren in Lancaster, CA.  I began teaching in the Antelope Valley High School District the fall of 1985.  I taught at Palmdale High for two years, and then moved to Quartz Hill High where all three kids were students.  I continued to teach at QHH for thirteen years.  My last five years of teaching were spent at Desert Winds Continuation School which is a school for students at risk of not graduating from high school.  Teaching was a passion for me, but I retired in June of 2005.

After retirement, Warren and I moved back to Idaho.  We had a house built in Meridian, ID, during the winter on 2005 and very happily moved into the house in June 2005.  We live close to daughter, Kirsten, and her husband, Lynn.  They have two girls now.  Avery is five and Olivia is one and one half.  We have enjoyed watching the girls one day a week since they were born.

Daughter, Shannon, and her husband, Adi, live in Switzerland right now.  They have three children.  Samir is six; Armaan is four and one half and Neesha will be two this fall.  They will be in Switzerland for another year, at least.

Jason and his wife, Michele, live in Thousand Oaks, CA.  They have two cats and a yorkshire named Putter.  Putter has done a couple of commercials and been on a soap opera so he is our "star grandpuppy."

I am enjoying my retirement with the Red Hat Club that I belong to.  I also belong to a garden club and  do some volunteer work.  Boise is ripe with opportunities to see plays and go to concerts.  And, I can just read all day if I want to!
